• Date: 10/24/2023 • Cigar: Quorum Maduro Robusto • Drinking: Cruzan Single Barrel Rum, water • Weather: 68 F, light breeze • Smoke Time: 45 min • Draw: Easy • Burn: Easy to light. Did need some touchups as it was unraveling slightly near the smoking end from the very start. Once that past that part it needed less attention. • Ash: Average • Mouthfeel: Medium • Nicotine Strength: Medium • Unlit Flavors/Smells: Sweet chocolate covered raisins. Cinnamon and spice. • Smoking Notes: First puff roasted toasted nuts and spicy. Retrohale is quite piquant. An inch in and I am noticing lots of wood notes, oak mostly. Roasted nuts and coffee. Slight bitterness of cacao. Spicy. • Conclusion: Decent but nothing special. A bit too spicy/bitter for my tastes. 2.5/5

• Date: 10/18/2023 • Cigar: Quorum Maduro Toro • Drinking: Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey • Weather: 61F, no wind • Smoke Time: 70 minutes • Draw: Starts off rather firm and loosens up as smoked. • Burn: Easy to light and needed a lot of touch-ups especially as there was no wind • Ash: Average length but quite “ugly” with lots of pits and bands. Touching up with the lighter reveals tough spots/lumps that are hard to burn. • Mouthfeel: Medium body with some odd numbing and astringency. • Nicotine Strength: Light into Medium at the halfway point. • Unlit Flavors/Smells: Very mild sweet chocolate raisins on the nose; likewise for dry pull. • Smoking Notes: First puff immediately gives me umami and spice. Retrohale is spicy with some sharpness but still pleasant. An inch in and the flavors kick in: leather, earth, oak, roasted cashews, and almonds. The retrohale is totally smooth at this point with no zing. As the first third winds down the main flavors are leather and oak. Waited until the second third before taking a sip of the whiskey. This section is characterized by leather and oak with hints of coffee and spice. At the halfway mark the spice is slightly more prominent and some oiliness appears. Longer intervals between puffs reveals coffee notes. The final third is much the same however the main wood flavor shifts from oak to cedar, the earthiness is more prominent, and the retrohale becomes a bit sharper. Starts to unravel a bit near the ash at this point. • Conclusion: An easy smoke albeit somewhat lacking in flavor depth and complexity until the second third is well underway. Mostly leather, wood, and earth with spice and nuts that comes and go. Peculiar numbing of the mouth. The whiskey paired with it did not particularly enhance or detract from the experience until the tail end of the smoke where its sweetness provided a nice contrast. 2.5/5

Very nice especially for the price.

Not a bad smoke for under $4. Would definitely get this one again. Very uneven burn however.
