Caldwell The King Is Dead
The last several I smoked of this blend had terrible burn issues, but this one was incredible. The draw was smooth, produced a lot of smoke, and enabled a very clean burn line. This in turn enabled a well blended flavor profile of wood, coffee, and black pepper.

Caldwell The King Is Dead
Although minimal, the flavors were of basic wood & coffee. A small bit of spice appeared at the end. The burn seems to be inconsistent on this blend, but this time it was very even with a smooth draw. Much better than the last experience.

Caldwell The King Is Dead
Not sure I'm gonna get any more of these. But I have enjoyed them.

Caldwell The King Is Dead
TL;DR - Medium strength flavors of wood, pepper, maple, black tea and licorice come and go throughout this uniquely dynamic smoke. Recommended 👍 Aged 12 mos, dry-boxed 6 hours ⏳️ Pre-light hints of Barnyard. Light-up is easy 👌 Goldilocks construction. Draw is a bit obstructed. Initial impressions: starts with a mellow wood while a kind of pepper 🌶 evolves (with minor heat 🥵). There's a sweet nuance here that might be maple or graham cracker. As the pepper mellows, an occasional black tea comes through with licorice nuance in the retrohale. Burn 🔥 is fine, but requires occasional relights. Medium flavors and medium nicotine.
Caldwell The King Is Dead
Creamy cedar and light pepper. Very smooth smoke. Draw was near perfect. Burn razor sharp. Firm construction with adequate smoke output. I would definitely smoke this again

Caldwell The King Is Dead
Kind of a letdown compared to other Caldwells. Although minimal, the flavors were of basic wood & coffee. A small bit of spice appeared at the end. The draw was very open, and the burn was horribly uncontrollable until the end.

Had to Keep Relighting

Caldwell The King Is Dead
Midrange smoke. Ring gauge is below my preferred Toro or Corona Gorda. If I had to describe in one word it would be "teaser". Good flavor on the inhale, but no follow through. Few things worse than to be left wanting. I like Caldwell's Anastasia and King Is Dead Mad Mo Fo, but this isn't anywhere close. Better cigars available in the price range.

Caldwell The King Is Dead
Great cigar. Love the flavors and burn. Really enjoyable smoke.

Good smoke. Dominican puro, and the Dominican corojo binder adds a nice layer of complexity. Medium bodied, cedar coffee and a hit of sweetness. Draw a little tight. Solid construction, like a cigar with an oily wrapper (Dominican Negrito).
