Ask any Tom, Dick, or Harry what his favorite brand of cigar is, and chances are he’ll blurt out, “Macanudo” before you can even finish asking the question. Sure, there are fancier, more limited edition, and more snob-approved cigars out there on the market. Sure, it’s unlikely to impress Mr. Snooty Pants. But when it comes to consistently subtle and pleasant offerings with exceptional pricing, Macanudo is just what the doctor ordered. And with a wide variety of sizes from Ascot cigarillos to Gigante gordos, there's a Macanudo to please the masses including the popular Macanudo Cafe Hyde Park. Plus, my prices are unbeatable, so daily enjoyment is practically a prerequisite.
Well-constructed using Dominican and Mexican filler and Connecticut shade wrappers, Macanudo handmades have built up a fine reputation for quality, which is part of what makes them so damn popular. These are the top-selling cigars in the world, and it’s hard to argue with a statistic like that. Take a chance, light one up, and see for yourself why these Macs are where it’s at.
Macanudo Cafe has earned a well-deserved 90-point rating, noting: "Full of bright and zesty tobacco, this lonsdale offers plenty of earthiness and nutty notes as well."

Macanudo Cafe
Initial thoughts: the vitola smells of hay/barn but in a mild way. Cold draw is similar. The initial taste off of the light is a bit peppery...it's mild, hitting the front part of my palette and staying there. There isn't much lingering. I'm not getting a lot of other flavors yet in the first few draws. Peppery is still the major feel. The smoke is abundant and light. Definitely a mild to medium cigar. One touch up on the burn so far and it's early. Not much by way of aroma. A little bit of cedar perhaps....a mild toasty flavor but the peppery finish remains...perhaps a little nutty lingering taste at the very end. My check of the cigar's profile confirms what I'm tasting which is nice. The ash is holding up nicely about an inch in. First retrohale and definitely have the creamy nutty flavor now. A nice mild cigar for the middle of the day. Into the second third of the cigar now. I've had to touch up the burn again and I got a blast of peppery, creamy nuttiness on the relight after drawing. It's not lingering on the tongue which is nice for the time of day. Definitely getting a cedar aroma now off the cigar while it's resting. Finished off the cigar and it remained very consistent throughout. Definitely a good intro/beginner cigar or something light to enjoy without blowing your palette away.

Macanudo Cafe
Great coffee cigar if aged properly. This one is solid at 1 year. Last of the batch, glad to see the draw is good on this one. 👍

Macanudo Cafe
A great morning cigar with coffee ☕️ 11 mos aged ⏳️ Draw is being difficult, again. Standard issue for these. Core flavors of hay, toasted wood and metallic mineral. Nothing fancy. Just good with coffee.

Macanudo Cafe
Great coffee ☕️ pairing. 11 mos aged ⏳️ Recommended 👍 A little mineral, a touch of hay. A classic as long as you age it.

Macanudo Cafe
TL;DR - Wood and hay. Great paired with coffee ☕️ Recommended in the cigarillos vitola as a morning or daytime smoke👍 Aged 10 mos ⏳️ Pre-light scent is hay and sweet tobacco. Great construction; the lightly plugged draw opens later. Initial light-up impresses charry wood; transitions to tangy wood 🪵 A mineral or metallic flavor develops mid-tongue. Dry grass or hay shows up mid-smoke. Light flavors and light nicotine. An easy smoke. Pairing with coffee ☕️ has been good. Tea should work too. I actually think this might be good with a sipping tequila. Parting thought, be sure to give these 6-8 months aging at a minimum. The factory seems to be minimally aging these before shipping; if at all.

Macanudo Cafe
TL;DR - dry tall-grass and light herbal. A pleasant and simple smoke. REQUIRES AGING. Great coffee pairing ☕️ Recommended 👍 Aged 8 mos ⏳️ Important: this was a terrible cigar without aging. Pre-light is green tea 🍵 Pleasant and mild. Good construction. Goldilocks draw. Light-up easy. Herbal and dry tall-grass notes. Pleasant and simple. Pairing well with coffee ☕️

Macanudo Cafe
Simply put, I just enjoy these.

Great little morning smoke with coffee

Macanudo Cafe
It was good, nothing special but not bad.

Macanudo Cafe
A decently average smoke. Wasn’t paying attention to the flavor, but I did enjoy it.
