Rocky Patel The Edge Corojo

End of the busy day in my new role. Not paid more, but have to cover more. By now, it's the same old song and dance. I'm employed and paid well so I'm not too sore. Anyway, had these for about 10 months in the humidor and they have a nice punch. Keep something sweet handy if you're not used to them. Speaking of punch, I use the big one today. The preflight snells are slight coffee/espresso from the foot with a hair of pepper. Cold draw is free flowing with leather notes on the tip of the tongue and some dark chocolate on the tail end. Lighting is uneventful, although the band took a half inch of wrapper with it. The burn is uneven at first due to this but cleans up quickly. Bright pepper and an upfront nutmeg are at the fore and peppery cedar on the retro. Minor tilled earth on the backend, but eases into a vague sweetness. Always liked these, there's no warm up. Smoke production is plentiful and light, with a notably oily blue hue off the foot but bright white by the time it leaves your mouth. If you're one to play with the smoke, this one's a little too light to do so but it'll give you nice volume. Near the halfway point of the third I start to get toasted nuts that join the pepper and nutmeg. Second third enters with a nice dry almond and a lingering cedar and pepper note. The nutmeg stops knocking down the other flavors now and I get to that nice dark chocolate and slides into a pleasant molasses sweetness. Pepper has backed off but by only the tiniest amount. A light pronounced leather takes over from the tilled earth. Smoke is noticeably oiler and creamy. There's already a good nicotine buzz by now and I need a long sip of tea to get ahead of it. Wonder if I'll need to resort to the gummy stash haha. This third stretches a bit long while I get myself sorted. Guess I shouldn't have gone with one of these on an empty stomach, but I like the dark chocolate and espresso notes in them too much. Enjoying the cooling weather on the patio, drink in hand, music on, and with a familiar stogie is my cigar happy place. The side where the wrapped pulled off the foot is burning a hair faster so it ends up kinda cock-eyed. Entering the final third and, yes, I did have to grab from the gummy stash haha. The wrapper cracks here, too, just my luck. C'est la vie, I guess. The crack doesn't mess the flavors up too much though. Speaking of, the fllavors are intense on the final third. Long, dry pepper and dark chocolate on the tongue. Espresso and cedar on the nose. Tingles in my forehead haha. Music playlist is wrapping up with some U2, how appropriate for a cigar called "The Edge" I guess. I like these cigars, if it isn't evident by now. Just the right sort of intensity of flavors and strength for me. I picked up a box each of habano and corojo a while back. Well, not much to say about the finish: it keeps it's previous intensity start to end. The burn was poor at the end, but that's from the split wrapper.

Vrij scherp kwa smaak, wel een proef je de tabak erg lekker doorheen en ergens een beetje bloemig kwa smaak

Not bad, but definitely a lighter cigar. I like the other The Edge blends better. Tasting mostly baking spices and bread.

Woodsiness & caramel come through steady here. Notes of pepper ae stronger at times. To draw is a little dryer than most but still adequate with a pretty even burn.

Good flavor and draw, but really funky burn. Required several touch ups and relights through the first half. Got annoyed and threw it away. I will revisit at some point…

Did a double v cut smoked really well, even burn for the most part. Became hard to draw after awhile. Over all a really decent cigar.
