AJ Fernandez is a 90-rated cigar machine who is arguably the finest boutique cigar producer today. Anything this guy gets his hands catches fire....in more ways than one. Blending a cigar is binary: you have it or you don't. It's like a foul shot. Miss enough and you'll become more associated with Icy Hot back patches than championship rings.
Inside rests 3 to 5 year aged Nicaraguan long leaves and binder for a pleasantly complex experience. Outside, a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper brings forth hearty notes of spice, pepper and earth. Medium.

AJ Fernandez New World Puro Especial
Medium smoke, has a coffee and pepper flavor. The burn is nice with a smooth pull . Not really my style, as I’m learning what I do and don’t like as newbie. Would most likely pair with sweet whiskey if I were to try again

Excellent experience I’m definitely adding this to my humidor super smooth. I need to get on cigar bid and buy me a whole box of these.

Pretty good. I taste leather, earth, hints of cinnamon. A bit peppery as well.

Firm pack, tight seams, and rich earthy barnyard aroma. Draw had a touch of resistance. First third had sharp pepper and spice with the retro showing some chocolate and ceder, but mostly stinging pepper (1/10). Body sits at a medium matching the strength. Halfway through the body became more dense dropping some of the pepper and adding barnyard. Caramel and chocolate were dancing in and out. With 2 inches left the cigar went out by itself, and didn't want to smoke properly after that (2/10). The flavours weren't bad, but not my style, hence the poor rating. Construction was great, and any wonky burn fixed itself. Edit: I'm adding here that this cigar made EVERYTHING I had on reek of ash and burnt tobacco, very unpleasant and unlike the other cigars. Perhaps something went wrong in the production or storage of this particular stick.

: overall this was an average cigar. I thought the coffee, caramel, and nut flavors were good. At times the spice was a bit strong but this is not a bad cigar.

Such a good smoke. Smooth blend of espresso, sweetness, and subtle spice.
