This medium-bodied smoke contains notes of cocoa, espresso, cedar and cream. Its Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper sheathes an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and a Dominican, Nicaraguan and Pennsylvanian filler. The cigar is highly regarded for its consistency and flawless craftsmanship. The Matilde Oscura Robusto is handmade at Tabacalera La Matilde in the Dominican Republic by the legendary Seijas family.

Repeat review, one year later. This is a smooth cigar with creamy notes of sweet pepper. The draw is airy with decent smoke output. The was fairly decent, but needed no corrections. The chalky dry appearance of the wrapper didn't seem to create a dry flavor.

This is a smoother cigar than some, but it still pulls creamy notes of sweet pepper. The draw is airy with good smoke output. It has a decent burn, even with the sponge feel and chalky wrapper.

Structure of the cigar wasn't worth the price. Creamy notes at the very beginning, after that a pretty mellow to mild smoke. Not as full-bodied as I'd expected, but still decent.

I smoked it late in the day after a full-bodied cigar. It's an easy smoke (vs LFD) but very full in flavor while pleasant to the pallet.
