E.P. Carrillo Pledge
Very good cigar, complex flavors and nice transition. Dark chocolate and espresso, lots of pepper at the end.

E.P. Carrillo Pledge
A great complex smoke. Always delivers.

E.P. Carrillo Encore
Good cigar. I enjoyed it in the evening. Not sure if it deserves a standard spot in the Humidor. Maybe try another time
E.P. Carrillo La Historia
3 - Buy a five-packer This is one of the first blends that I smoked many moons ago. Its one that I had held on a pedestal and was concerned a future smoke wouldn't live up to it. Welp, it did fall a bit in my eyes, however not too much. I do love the blend, however the Senator is feel is a better vitola. Pretty strong chocolate, and the pepper drops off pretty quick after the first third. I also feel like it almost has a baby powder profile to it. Ive gotten this on a few other cigars and I'm not sure what to make of it. My only other real complaint is that the packing on this feels very light. It's a smoke machine for how light it is, rich and velvety smooth, but it has light pack. Regardless, good stick but in the future I'll go for the robusto. 1 - End of Days (98 -100) 2 - Buy a box (90 - 97) 3 - Buy a five-packer (74 - 89) 4 - Bargain-buy (55 - 73) 5 - One and done (35 - 54) 6 - Life is too short (15 - 34) 7 - Strait to jail (0 -14)

E.P. Carrillo La Historia
Aged 1 year β³οΈ Pre-light is sweet and floral. Light-up is easy. Core is dark roasted oak with early notes of licorice and stewed fruit. Dark coffee develops and stays in the core. A few wrapper breaks develop. None cause smokability issues. Paired with black coffee which neither seems to enhance nor detract from the experience. Recommended π

E.P. Carrillo La Historia
Aged 1 year, and dry-boxed a few days β³οΈ This one starts with a very pleasant floral pre-light. Easy-going light-up reveals roasted oak πͺ΅ and a coffee core βοΈ This fantastic smoke teases a bit of raisin at the beginning of the second third. Smoke output is dark, rich and sophisticated. Linear and satisfying π

E.P. Carrillo La Historia
A solid member of my long-term humidor. 1 year aged β³οΈ Recommended π Coffee core with regular notes of sweet stewed fruit. I'm having mine with an IPA and it's a great match.
E.P. Carrillo La Historia
Solid

E.P. Carrillo Pledge
TL;DR - a sublime journey. Toasty oak, hints of black cherry. Black pepper precedes the baked apple finish. A dark smoke. Recommended π Aged 16 mos, dry-boxed 3 hours β³οΈ Pre-light sweet tobacco. Light-up is easy π Goldilocks construction and draw. Initial impressions: Dark roasted espresso bean fades to toasty oak and hints of black cherry. As the smoke warms up, it gets a bit spicy too. Black pepper is prominent in the final third just before the brief baked apple finish π Medium/dark flavors and medium/heavy nicotine. Pairing ideas: this is a dark smoke, so something sweet would pair well.

E.P. Carrillo La Historia
A very bold and dark expression, portraying a profile of deep espresso, dark chocolate, and black pepper. A subtle sweet note comes through at times. The construction is very firm, keeping a level burn and adequate draw without any issues.

E.P. Carrillo La Historia
Dark toasted oak core. Intermittent tangy wood.

E.P. Carrillo Pledge
Chocolate, espresso and raisin. Part of a new breed of blends exploring flavor journeys previously untold.

E.P. Carrillo Pledge
when i asked for a richer cigar the tender had one in hand and it did NOT disappoint. deep spicy smoke. i really enjoy the lingering smell of this cigar on myself lying in bed after smoking.
E.P. Carrillo Pledge
Very dark, coffee bean and espresso. Not as sweet as expected. Beautiful draw and burn.

E.P. Carrillo La Historia
Dark toasted oak core. Wood flavors are intermittently tangy. Black cherry hints at the finish.

E.P. Carrillo Encore
Repeated reviews.

E.P. Carrillo La Historia
TL;DR - dark toasted oak core, light spice and distant intermittent raisin. Recommended π 9 mos aged β³οΈ Pre-light faint maduro tobacco. Expert construction and draw. Light-up is dark, toasted wood πͺ΅ Burn is great. Light spice teases the tongue. Will it be spicy or not? As the first third comes to an end, the toasted wood has mellowed and a faint raisin comes and goes π Toasted oak retrohale. Approaching the end of the second third, the core flavor has been toasted wood. The raisin hint arrives more often in the final third. There's not much of a flavor journey here, yet it has been a very good cigar. Medium to strong strength nicotine; light to medium flavors. Pair with sweet meats π (BBQ?), and sweet drinks like cola. Whiskey and Islay scotch seem obvious also. Not sure that coffee βοΈ would be a good idea.
E.P. Carrillo Pledge
It honestly can't see or taste much difference between this and the la historia. It was good and creamy. Lots of good chocolate flavor. Burn was off in the the final 3rd. Overall and good cigar but nothing spectacular.

E.P. Carrillo Encore
TL;DR - an elegant smoke as expected. Medium strength. Tea at the core. π Aged 7 mos β³οΈ Pre-light sweet tobacco. Superb construction, not loose-packed like some previous EP Carrillo encounters. Goldilocks draw. Light-up easy and even. Initially toasty oak, leather retrohale. Black tea and tobacco spice develop and stay to the end. It's an exquisite smoke, though coffee pairing is not recommended.
E.P. Carrillo La Historia
Almost 1 year in the humidor. Great burn and draw. Coffee and leather and just enough cocca. Final 3rd the tar built up preventing a finish to the nub. Otherwise an excellent cigar.
