Handmade in the Dominican Republic, the La Aurora 1985 Maduro is part of La Aurora’s Time Capsule Series (which celebrates the year in which La Aurora first started working with a particular wrapper).

Consistent review, 16 months of rest on this one. The profile is a bold blend of coffee and wood with some leather notes coming through. Pepper really only comes through on the retro. The cigar is constructed well, allowing both the draw and burn to stay smooth & clean.

Normally a very reliable cigar, this one was a fluke with a terrible burn. I spent most of the cigar correcting a one sided deep run. Luckily, the flavor stayed as expected with a blend of coffee, wood, and leather notes. The pepper still came through on the retro.

Consistent review. A semi-bold blend of wood, leather, and coffee. Touches of pepper come as well, but mostly on the retro. The wrapper is toothy and well constructed, providing a clean draw and even burn. Great cigar.
