My Father Flor de Las Antillas Maduro Toro cigars are the maduro expression of the Garcia family’s homage to its Cuban heritage. Given a nickname that translates to “flower of the Antilles” from Spanish, these 6x52 treats celebrate old-school Cuban cigars with early 1900s artwork and a blend of masterfully aged Cuban-seed long filler and binder tobaccos grown on the Garcia family’s Nicaraguan farms. Coating the Cuban-seed center is a another Cuban-seed leaf, a top-shelf Ecuadorian Habano wrapper fermented to a dusky oscuro shade. A complex, rich, and delectably smooth medium-full bodied tapestry of dark chocolate, pepper, earth, roasted nuts, espresso, and creamy leather will coat your palate with each puff. Order your My Father Flor de Las Antillas Maduro Toro cigars online at Casa de Montecristo today and you can pick up your box of 20 in-store or have them delivered to your front door.

My Father Flor De Las Antillas Maduro

This Nicaraguan stick offered a medium to full-bodied smoke. The Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown Oscuro wrapper gave me subtle earthy notes of dark cocoa, and espresso flavors, complemented by a mild sweetness from the wrapper. The smoke also carried hints of earth and black pepper spice on the retrohale. Surprisingly, I didn’t detect any oak flavor. The mild box press was well-constructed without any issues. The smoke output was very good. Overall, this is a solid smoke with pepper and spice as prominent notes. Although it won the Cigar of the Year award in 2012, it wasn’t a cigar that resonated with me. It lacked the depth and complexity I was looking for.

My Father Flor De Las Antillas Maduro

Great smoke! I got a hit a sweet spice on the tip of my tongue throughout the cigar with some hay, chocolate and coffee to round it out with the mini robusto box press. Small touch ups needed maybe twice Great cigar for the later afternoon and on. Definitely won’t weigh you down. Hasn't beaten any of my staples but something I would keep a few on hand to share with friends after dinner.

Very smooth smoke. Mild on the retrohale, even though it's a Maduro. Burn line wasn't straight, but it was consistent. Flavor became a little stronger at the beginning of the second third. Flavor became much stronger in the final third. Also heat started to increase on the tongue during the final third. I'm fact I had to finally give up on the final third. Other than that it was a very good cigar, overall.

My Father Flor De Las Antillas Maduro

Started with a nice sweetness that faded quickly, leaving predominant Earth, cacao and wood. The flavors shifted their order but didn't really change. Construction, draw, burn were all good. Medium in body at the most. Decent, but nothing to write home about. Stopped at about 1.5 inches.

Had moments the flavor was spot on. Hadn't some chalky feeling left on the palate sometimes which was off putting for me. Burn and draw were great. I might try again but not high on my list

A friend gave this to me in a bomb last week, very enjoyable. The burn had to be touched up a few times but other than that it smoked great. I actually like it more than most stuff from My Father, as it was actually very creamy and not a total pepper bomb.
