The HVC Hot Cake Corona Gorda is a medium bodied corona extra that is a follow up to HVC’s instant hit the Pan Caliente. The Hot Cake is a bolder version of the original, and it sports an oily, dark Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper placed over a binder and filler made of Nicaraguan Corojo tobacco. This potent but not overwhelming blend offers up sweet notes of chocolate and caramel with a touch of spice and a very peppery retro hale. The HVC Hot Cake is handmade at the Aganorsa Leaf factory in Nicaragua.

Repeated review. Full of spice and cocoa, well blended and constructed well. The draw was a little tight this time, but the burn was still great, especially for the size. A touch of leather started coming through towards the end.

This one is full of spice and cocoa, well blended in the super short half corona for a quick smoke. The draw and burn were great, especially for the size. A touch of leather started coming through towards the end.

Wood and cedar in the first 2 3rds. Last third had some great flavors come through wish it would of been present for more of the cigar. Burn draw and burn were spot on. I might try this again.

HVC Hot Cake

Draw and burn inconsistent. Had to relight multiple times in 2nd 3rd even with more than normal puff intervals. Will give it a try on second one and edit accordingly.

Dark, oily maduro wrapper. Some veins, almost invisible seams. Bold, leathery flavor from the start. Quite spicy. It evolves to show dark chocolate, earthy notes. Strength is medium, but both ody and flavor are doubtless full. Good, strong cigar.

HVC Hot Cake

Nice cigar, smooth, oily wrapper. Tightly packed, almost no give. Slightly tight draw, good smoke production. Notes of hay, black pepper. Balanced, consistent throughout. Almost even burn, no issues. A great cigar for its price.
