Its oily Ecuadorian Habano maduro wrapper cloaks a Brazilian Arapiraca binder and a Brazilian and Colombian filler. Handmade in Honduras. The Bolivar brand is named after Simon “El Libertador” Bolivar a 19th Century military and political leader who help several countries in Central and South America gain their independence from Spain. In fact, the Gran Republica’s blend includes premium tobaccos from Ecuador and Colombia, which are two of the countries Bolivar helped liberate. A solid smoke, the flavor brings out some very creamy spice that's mixed with pepper and cedar. A brighter spice comes out on the retro without any harsh tones. A great draw and perfectly even burn.
