Be a gold digger! I know I'm diggin' the Gold. CAO Gold goes way back, one of CAO's original blends back when their HQ was in a strip mall Nashville, before all the slick marketing started, before General Cigar bought them out, and before all the colorful boxes such as Brazilia et al were even a gleam in founder Cano A. Ozgener's eye. Gold was also their first to achieve a 90 rating, and it remains a classic mild beauty to this very day. Made in Nicaragua, its wrapper is Connecticut-seed grown in Ecuador with Nicaraguan fillers. Gold is super-smooth with no discernible bite, yet brings exceptional flavor for a milder cigar. Burns true and even from foot to head and holds its fine white ash very nicely, building in complexity as you smoke. An excellent morning cigar.

Halfway the flavours started to show. At the start cocoa and ceder, halfway floral notes and ended with some savory and floral

Smooth, light flavor great for first smoke of the day in the first 2/3. Final 1/3 came with a little woody pepper. Great draw but appearance was not good with a split near the cap and a weird texture on the foot. I’d smoke it again but wouldn’t buy a box.

Well constructed. Nice Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. First third mellow, woodsy, mild to medium, flavor is direct, not layered. Slight flavor build in the middle with intro of pepper and cream. Burn still even, nice draw and smoke volume. Return to earth flavors - wood, nuts- rounding third base, hit of charred steak makes for a nice finish. Well constructed mellow cigar. Two weeks in the humidor. Uneven burn in the transition from middle to final third but it sorted itself out, no touchups necessary. Did not burn "hot" at the end. Been trying some milder cigars with the weekend morning coffee. This earns a place in the rotation.

CAO just know what they're doing. Sweet nutty/ wood flavors. Plenty of smoke and an almost perfect burn.

Excellent cigar. Very good construction, burn and draw. Well-packed. Smooth, semi-sweet. Tight ash. Ample smoke. New staple in my humidor.
