Oliva Cigar Co. is a juggernaut that's one of the largest in Nicaragua yet remains boutique to its core and a darling of critics and cigar geeks. They have a plethora of 90+ ratings - 95, 96, and it's a fixture on the Cigar of The Year lists. The company as we know it was formed in 1995, but the family has been in the business dating all the way back to 1886, when Melanio Oliva started growing tobacco in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. Fast-forward to today, and they are found in almost every smoke shop, online retailer, and humidor you can find. A favorite of beginners and aficionados alike, no one can deny they are one of the best cigar manufactures on the planet.
Serie G Maduro combines the spicy earthiness of Nicaraguan Habano long fillers with an exotic, oily maduro wrapper. Box-pressed, this medium-bodied cigar comes loaded with notes of oak, spice, espresso and cocoa. 93 Rated.

This box-pressed cigar offers a medium-bodied flavor with a subtle hint of mild to medium smoke. It also has notes of cedar, toasted nuts, and possibly coffee or cocoa.

This is my first time trying the Serie G Maduro, and this was well worth the wait, as the sweetness was not unforgiving and was smooth throughout. The chocolate and toffee held the sweetness in the first two thirds, with the sweet fruit taking over in the final third. The retrohale was a treat of pepper and sweetness of cherry, leaving a sensational aroma throughout the smoke. This has not only taken a permanent spot in the humidor but a spot on my top 10 cigars and one I will definitely recommend to everyone.

Nice, but unremarkable cigar. Medium strength, not overly complex, medium to mild body.

Smoking the Oliva Serie G Maduro Special G Perfecto. Smooth draw, even burn, and rich flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, and a hint of spice. The Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper adds a nice sweetness with earthy undertones. Solid short smoke—would definitely recommend

Almost too long (that’s what she said) but a great draw!

Very flakey burn, ash fell of every half inch or so. Otherwise a great smoke

Oily yet chalky wrapper provides a clean burn. Profile was rich with mostly coffee and nuts for flavor. This specific stick was plugged and required many poker tool uses - abnormal for most Oliva cigars I've smoked.
